For 15 days, Umbrella for the Needy, in partnership with the East Africa Feminist Peace Network, carried out a powerful media campaign amplifying the lived experiences of internally displaced women and children. Through videos, graphics, and audio stories, we centered voices often silenced, turning testimony into advocacy and compassion into action.

Stories We Shared

* Lived experiences of IDPs navigating displacement and resilience

* Survivors of GBV, breaking stigma and reclaiming dignity

* Education barriers faced by displaced women and girls

* Stigma against survivors, and the urgent need for community support

* Sexual and reproductive health rights, ensuring safety and autonomy

* Return of IDPs, reminding us that healing begins with safe return

Why Media Matters

Storytelling is more than awareness — it is a tool for justice. By producing and sharing these narratives, we created space for survivors and displaced women to be heard, validated, and supported. Each video, graphic, and audio piece carried the message that displacement should not mean disempowerment, and that healing is possible when communities listen and act.

Continuing the Journey

This campaign has laid a foundation for stronger advocacy and deeper solidarity. The stories shared will continue to guide our programs, inspire trauma‑informed responses, and mobilize communities to stand with GBV survivors and displaced women and children. Together, we are weaving resilience into every step toward safety, dignity, and empowerment.

Thank you to all who engaged with this campaign. Your solidarity helps transform voices into progress.
