When women come together, transformation happens. This week, Umbrella for the Needy, in partnership with the East Africa Feminist Peace Network, convened a powerful one‑day workshop under the theme “Feminist Unity in Action: Access, Care, Digital Engagement.”

We were honored to have our sister organization, the Yikono Movement, join us. As a women‑led initiative committed to ending gender‑based violence and advancing safety, dignity, and justice for women and girls, their participation brought powerful insights and experiences that deepened the conversations. This reminded us that solidarity across movements is both a practice and a promise.

Rather than focusing only on challenges, the workshop became a space of exchange and renewal. Participants explored:

* Practices of self and collective care that sustain activists and communities

* Strategies to strengthen resilience in the face of ongoing pressures

* Pathways for digital empowerment that amplify feminist voices and advocacy

The energy in the room reflected a shared commitment: to build a more just and caring world where women support women, and where digital spaces become platforms for empowerment rather than harm.

We extend heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their insights, courage, and unwavering dedication. Together, we are weaving a stronger fabric of feminist solidarity — one that uplifts, protects, and empowers.
