Over the course of five days, Umbrella for the Needy, in partnership with the East Africa Feminist Peace Network, led a campaign dedicated to building peace in Tigray. Each day highlighted a different pillar of community resilience, reminding us that peace is not distant — it begins in everyday actions.
Day 1: Building Trust and Everyday Peace
We introduced peacebuilding as a shared journey, encouraging dialogue circles, youth clubs, and small acts of care that strengthen trust.
Day 2: Dialogue Spaces
Dialogue was emphasized as the bridge to understanding. Communities were invited to listen, ask questions, and find common ground across differences.
Day 3: Youth as Peace Builders
Young people were celebrated as leaders of today, not just tomorrow. Supporting youth‑led peace clubs and initiatives was highlighted as an investment in a hopeful future.
Day 4: Women, Families, and Safe Communities
We affirmed that peace begins at home. Empowered women and safe families are the foundation of thriving, resilient communities.
Day 5: Commitments and Positive Actions
The campaign concluded with a call to ongoing responsibility — joining forums, trainings, and community projects, while choosing peace as a daily practice.
Our Collective Path
This campaign was more than awareness; it was a call to action. By centering dialogue, youth leadership, women’s empowerment, and everyday commitments, we are laying the foundation for a peaceful Tigray. Together, we can transform disputes into opportunities for understanding and build futures rooted in trust, care, and hope.
Peace starts with us — and grows when we walk this path together.
