PROVIDING FOOD FOR IDP’S & MEKELLE RESIDENTS (ELDERS, PREGNANT & LACTATING MOTHERS)

PROVIDING MATERNITY KIT FOR PREGNANT WOMEN

UFPNS has been responding to the emergency situation for the last 19 months in all IDP centers of Mekelle, shire, Temben providing food, NFI, cash, medication, cloth collecting from the community and Diaspora.
In general UFPNS has been supporting 25 IDPS in Mekelle, 5 IDPs in Shire, 8 IDPs in Temben .providing flour, fortified powder (Mitin), Milk, NFI, soap, dignity kit, maternity kit mainly focused on pregnant and lactating mothers, children and people with disabilities.
UFPNS has been also supporting Malnourished children from different weredas like fatsi, selawa ,samre and chelekot .UFPNS were giving care uniquely for 100 house hold (325 in total) at ‘Medregenet IDP center providing shelter, medical service, feeding, keep sanitation and hygiene and basic education for children in collaboration with different local NGOs.14 womens gave birth safely at the organization camp. According to the government’s direction 178 IDP’s return to their places in collaboration with UNHCR, IOM, & BOLSA. Currently UFPNS is caring 50 HH(150 in total) pregnant and lactating mothers providing shelter, medical service, feeding, keep sanitation and hygiene and basic education for children in collaboration with different local NGOs.
