ታሪኽ ሃፍቶም ፀጋይ
ኣብታ ኣብ ደቡባዊ ክፋል ትግራይ ትርከብ ፅምዋ ዝዓሰላ ሰላዋ ትበሃል ዓዲ፤ ሓደ ሃፍቶም ፀጋይ ዝተባህለ ወዲ ሰለስተ ዓመት ህፃን ቆልዓ ይነብር ነበረ። ቅድሚ ኣርባዕተ ዓመት ዝነበረ ዕፅዋን ክባን ትግራይ ካብ ማንም ንላዕሊ ንህፃናት ኣዝዩ ከቢድ እዋን ነይሩ፤ ትላሓስ ትቕመስ ስኢኖም፤ ሰሓቕ ንእስነቶም ጠፊኡ ማማ ጠሚዩኒ ዝብል ገዋሕታ ቃንዘኦም ዓው ኢሉ ዝስመዐሉ እዋን እዩ ነይሩ፡፡
ኣብዚ ከቢድ እዋን እዚ እዩ ነይሩ ዛንታታት ብዛዕባ እቶም ኣብ ሰላዋ ዝርከቡ ብሕጽረት ምግቢ ዝሳቐዩ ህጻናት ብሰፊሑ ዝተጋወሐ። ኩለ-መዳያዊ ዕፅዋ ኣብ ዝነበረሉ ማለት ውን ግልጋሎት ባንኪ፤መብራህቲ፤ቴሌኮሙኒኬሽን ይኹን ነዳዲ ፍፁም ኣብ ዘይነበረሉ እዋን፡ ኣብቲ ሕማቕ ግዜ፤ ኣብቲ ጭንቆ-ፀላም ሰባት ኣዝዮም ተሸጊሮም ኢዶም ንመፅወቲ ኣብ ዝዝርግሐሉ እዋን እዩ ነይሩ ትካልና ምስ ማሕበር ረድኤት ትግራይ ብምትሕብባር ናብታ ዓዲ ዝወስደና መኪና ምስረኸብና ተስፋና ዝለምለመ፡፡ንኽትሕግዝ ድልውቲ ኮይና ዝተደልደለት ካብ ጋንታና ሓንቲ ተባዕ ሰብ ዝተወሰነ ምግብን ውሑዳት ክዳውንትን ሒዛ ተበገሰት።
ኣብ ሰላዋ ምስ በፃሕና፤ ብዓይንኻ ከትሪኦ ዘስካሕክሕ ክትኣምኖ ዝኸብድ ኩነታት ተዓዘብና፡፡ ብጣዕሚ ልብኻ ዝሰብር ሃዋህው ብዙሓት ቆልዑ ብጥሜት ደኺሞም ሞት ኣንፃላልይዎም ነይሩ። ኣደዳ ስቓይን ሕማምን ኮይኖም ቁልዕነቶም ርሒቑ በዕፅምቲ ቆይሞም ተስፋ ቆሪፆም ነይሮም፡፡ ካብኣቶም ሃፍቶምን ንእሽተይ ሓፍቱ መድህን ፀጋይን ይርከብዎም። ኣካሎም ማሲኑ እዩ ነይሩ፡፡ ወዲ ሰለስተ ዓመት ህፃን ዝነበረ ሃፍቶም ኣብ ከቢድ ኩነታት እዩ ነይሩ፤ ከቢድ ሕፅረት ምግቢ ስለ ዘጋጠሞ ኣብ ኣፍ ሞት እዩ ነይሩ ምባል ይከኣል፡፡
ከምሳዕቤኑ ድማ ንሙሉእ ሕክምናዊ ሓገዝ ናብ መቐለ ክንወስዶም ንወላዲቶም ሓተትናያ፤ ፈለማ ስግኣታ ዋላ እንተገለፀት ደቃ ተብለዖም ስለዘይነበራ ክሕገዙላ ብሓሳብና ተስማዕመዐት፡፡ እታ ምስክነይቲ ኣዶ ኣብ ሞንጎ ተስፋን ስጋኣትን ኮይና ካብኣ ከይርሕቑ ከይፍለዩዋ ሰለስቲኦም ደቃ ሕቑፍ ኣቢላ እናሰዓመት ፍቕራ ገለፀትሎም፡፡ ናብ መቐለ ንገብሮ ጎዕዞ ደሕንነቱ ኣይተረጋገፀን፤ ኣብ መንገዲ እንታይ ከምዝገጥመና እውን ኣይንፈልጥን፡፡ ይኹን እምበር ሂወት ዞም ዕሸላት ክነድሕን ተስፋ ተሓንጊጥና ጉዕዞና ቀፀልና፡፡
ኩሉ ዕንቅፋት ሓሊፍና መቐለ ምስበፃሕና፤ ንሃፍቶምን ንመድህን ሓፍቱን ብቀጥታ ናብ ሆስፒታል ለካቲት 11 ወሰድናዮም፤ ሽዑ እቲ ሆስፒታል ብፅቡቕ ተቐቢሉ ብምሕካም ዘድልዮም ኩሉ ዓይነት ሓገዝ ምስ ገበረሎም ብቕፅበት ሓዘን ናብ ሓጎስ ክቕየር ብዓይንና ተዓዘብና፡፡
ድሕሪ ኣርባዕተ ዓመት ሕዚ ሃፍቶም ወዲ ሸውዓተ ዓመት ፅቡቕ ሰገን ኮይኑ ኣሎ፡፡ ኣብ ትሕቲ ሓገዝ ትካልና Umbrella For The Needy ብፅቡቕ ክንክን ይረክብ ኣሎ። ከም ቀደም ኣይኮነን ሎሚ ሃፍቶምን መድህን ሓፍቱን ትምህርቲ፤ ክንክን ጥዕናን ንነዊሕ እዋን ዝሰኣንዎ ፍቕርን ይረኽቡ ኣለው። ሕዚ ከም ቀደም ኣይኮነን ሃፍቶም ብድሙቕ ፍሽኽትኡ እዩ ዝልለ። ምስ ካልኦት መሓዝቱ ምፅዋት ዝፈቱ ኣዝዩ ምቕሉል ቆልዓ እዩ ሃፍቶም፡፡ ንህፃውንቲ ትምቾ ዓለም ክትህሉ ኩሉ ጊዜ ይብህግ፡፡
ታሪኽ ሃፍቶም ብዛዕባ ካብ ሞት ምድሓን ጥራይ ኣይኮነን ዘምህር፤ ታሪኽ ሃፍቶም ሕብረተሰባዊ ምርድዳእን ልግስን ከምኡ ውን ተስፋ ዘይምቑራፅን ክንደየናይ አገዳሲ ምኻኑ ዘዘኻኽር እዩ። ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ጉዕዝኡ ሕልሚ ዓዱ ተሰኪሙ፤ ኣብ ፀልማት እዋን ብርሃን ወሊዑ ሓባሪ መንገዲ ክኸውን ዝኽእል ብሩህ መጻኢ ዝሕብር ኣብነታዊ ዛንታ እዩ፡፡
The Journey of Haftom Tsegay
In the quiet village of Selawa, in the southern part of Tigray, lived a three year-old named Haftom Tsegay. Four years ago, during a difficult time when Tigray was under a blockade, food was hard to find, and the laughter of children was replaced by the sounds of hunger.
During this tough time, stories spread about the malnourished children in Selawa. With no access to banks ,Electricity, phone communications and fuel, people were in great need. But hope arrived when our organization, with help from REST, managed to find a vehicle to reach the village. One brave person from our team set out with fortified food and a few clothes, ready to help.
When they arrived in Selawa, the scene was heartbreaking. Many children were weak and sick from starvation. Among them were Haftom and his little sister, Medhin Tsegay. They were found huddled together, their tiny bodies very thin and their spirits low. Haftom, just three years old, was in serious condition—he had severe malnutrition and was barely alive.
Their mother, filled with worry but also love, agreed to let us take them to Mekelle for medical care. With tears in her eyes, she gathered her three children, holding them tightly as if afraid to let go. The journey to Mekelle was uncertain, but the promise of hope shone brighter than the darkness they had left behind.
At Yekatit 11 Hospital, Haftom and Medhin received the care they desperately needed. The hospital staff, along with our organization, provided free medical help and emotional support. It was a turning point—a moment where sadness began to change into hope.
Now, four years later, Haftom is seven years old and thriving under the care of our organization, Umbrella For The Needy. He and Medhin receive education, healthcare, and the love they missed for so long. Haftom, with his bright smile, has become a symbol of strength. He loves playing with the other children and exploring the compound, dreaming of a world where no child goes hungry.
Haftom's story is not just about survival; it is a reminder of the power of community, kindness, and hope. With every step he takes, he carries the dreams of his village, showing us that even in the darkest times, light can shine through, guiding us toward a brighter future.
